Greg Stroup was born in Stockton, California, and is the second oldest of eight children. Mr. Stroup's father, James “Jim” L. Stroup, worked his way through law school and started his own law practice at the age of 31. Jim Stroup partnered with attorney G. Archer Bakerink in 1987 and established the Stroup & Bakerink law firm in Tracy, California. Greg Stroup began his legal career in 1990 as a law clerk for the Stroup & Bakerink firm while completing his law school studies and preparing for the bar examination. After passing the bar examination in 1992, Greg Stroup practiced with the Stroup & Bakerink firm as an associate until his father suddenly passed away in 1995 at the age of 51. After Jim's death, Greg Stroup and Mr. Bakerink continued the Stroup & Bakerink partnership. In 2001, Greg Stroup established The Stroup Law Firm, APC. Mr. Stroup is married, has two boys, and resides in Tracy, California.
